Oktoberfest on the Minneapolis Riverfront

September 18, 19 & 20, 2009
Extended to 3 days this year!
Join us for German-style fun! Festival hours will be Friday, September 18 - 4 pm to 9 pm,Saturday, September 19 - 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday, September 20 - 10 am to 7 pm. Most ofthe events are held under tents and under the Central Ave. Bridge, protected from theweather, so the event will be held rain or shine.
Enjoy Munich in Minneapolis complete with traditional music from Alpensterne, The SquiresBand, Bill Koncar, Sweet Colleens and plenty of polka dancing, food and beer. The historicand quaint backdrop of St. Anthony Main and the natural beauty of the Mississippi River makefor the idyllic Oktoberfest setting. Admission and music will be free for all ages. IDs will be
Patrons will enjoy authentic German food and an array of great imported beers. In addition tothe traditional food, beverage and atmosphere, patrons attending Oktoberfest on theRiverfront will enjoy games such as the beer barrel roll, the Hammerschlagen (nail driving)wiener eating contests and adorable Dachshund racing.
Oktoberfest is located along Main Street S.E. on the banks of the Mississippi River adjacent toSt. Anthony Main. Oktoberfest is presented by City Pages, FOX 9, Cities 97, KFAN & KOOL 108radio and Minneapolis Riverfront Arts & Events Committee. A portion of proceeds from theevent benefit the St. Paul Jaycees.
